Capacity: 40,000 lbs/hr of low pressure steam for district heating

Process

  • 2 gasifiers convert wood biomass to combustible syngas.
  • Clean syngas is directed to an ignition chamber.
  • Combustion of syngas is completed in the furnace section of the boiler.
  • Process steam is produced for multiple uses at the Kruger mill.
  • The (existing) ESP further cleans flue gas before releasing it out the stack.

Nexterra Gasification System at Kruger Products Tissue Mill,
New Westminster

Kruger Products, Canada’s leading manufacturer and distributor of bathroom and facial tissue and paper towel products, has selected a Nexterra biomass gasification system for its mill in New Westminster BC. The system will convert wood residue into clean burning “syngas” that will be fired directly into a boiler in place of natural gas.
