ORNL's Renewable Energy System
Nexterra provided Johnson Controls Inc. with a 60 MMBtu/hr biomass gasification system for installation at the US DOE's Oak Ridge National Labs. Installation and commissioning of the plant was completed in 2012 and the Nexterra system successfully passed all of the performance tests, including tests for capacity, emissions and reliability. In the fall of 2013, the customer shut the plant down and in 2014 the customer decided to permanently decommission the plant.
